Philosophy

Three Rivers Training uses positive, reward-based techniques. With positive methods, dogs become eager participants in the training process and develop strong bonds with their family in a relationship based on trust and mutual respect. Training becomes fun for both pet and pet parent.

Three Rivers Training does not work towards readying your dog for obedience competition or any type of competition. Our goals are:

  • To help your dog learn self control and good manners and become well socialized with people and other dogs.
  • To teach you about canine body language and how dogs learn.
By understanding canine body language, you will be able to interpret emotions in your dog and other dogs, thereby avoiding behavioral problems down the road. By understanding learning theory, you will be able to confidently teach your dog anything anytime, whether it be obedience, a fun trick, or an agility game.
