How to Set Up Mail for Mac OS X to Send and Receive Email
First, gather some information
about your email account. If you don't already have this information, call
methownet.com at 996.2022.
* You mail account is
a POP account
* You need your email address
* Your username (username is the first part of your email address plus .methownet.
If your email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, your username would be biff.methownet.
* Your need your account password
* Mail server is mail.methownet.com
Next, follow these steps to configure Mail:
If this is the first time you have set up Mail, you will be prompted to set up a new Mail account.
If you have already set up an account in Mail once before and wish to set up a new Methownet email account, simply go to the "File" menu at the top then select "Add Account". Either way, you can then follow the same procedure outlined below.
Mail will automatically choose POP as the account type. This is correct.
Put whatever you want for the Description.
Set the Incoming mail server to mail.methownet.com. Your username and password should automatically carry over from the page previous.You will need to add .methownet to your username, username.methownet. Although this is not typical, it is required for the methownet mail server.
Click "Continue". Mail will then attempt to verify your settings by logging in. If you are not connected to the Internet, you'll get an error, which you should ignore at this point.
Incoming Mail Server - Do not check the box labeled use "Secure Sockets Layer". This option is not necessary.
Leave the "Authentication" dropdown box is left at None and click "Continue"
Outgoing Mail Server - Set the outgoing mail serve to mail.methownet.com, and make sure that "Use Authentication" is not checked.
You will now see your Account Summary. Click Create if everything is correct, click Go Back to fix any errors.
Repeat these steps for any other accounts you want to set up.

How to delete an account
Tip: Before deleting an account, save any messages you don't want to
erase in a different location, such as the desktop or the On My Mac mailbox.
If you are switching from a POP account to an IMAP account, set up the
IMAP account first, then drag messages you want to save from the POP
mailbox(es) to the IMAP mailbox(es), before deleting the POP account.
1. Choose Preferences from the Mail menu.
2. Click Accounts.
3. Select the account you want to delete.
4. Click Remove.
