Customer Help & Support

This page covers general help for your Methownet service: basic internet troubleshooting and how to get started with SmartHub for billing and account management. For detailed wireless or fiber specifics, use the help links under those sections.

Step 1: Quick Restart

If your internet suddenly stops working or feels “stuck,” try this first:

  • Unplug your router from power.
  • Wait 10–15 seconds.
  • Plug everything back in.
  • Wait 5 minutes and then test your connection again.

This simple restart fixes many “my internet just quit” issues, no matter what type of service you have.

Step 2: Check Wi-Fi Signal

If the internet works in some spots but not others, or is slow only in certain rooms:

  • Make sure your router is in an open area, not hidden in a cabinet or behind metal objects.
  • Try moving closer to the router and see if things improve.
  • Large homes, outbuildings, or thick walls may need extra access points or wired connections.

If you often lose signal in one area of the house, let us know — we can talk through options for extending coverage.

Step 3: Check the Device

If one device is having trouble but others are fine:

  • On that device, turn Wi-Fi OFF, wait a few seconds, then turn it back ON.
  • Confirm you’re connected to your Methownet network name (SSID).
  • Double-check the Wi-Fi password if it asks you to sign in again.
  • As a last resort, you can “forget” the network on the device and reconnect fresh.

If multiple devices are having problems at the same time, that usually points back to the router, wireless signal, or equipment — we’re happy to look at it with you.
