Junior class fundraiser
Tim Behrens will read “a savory stew of stories from the Pat McManus comedies” for a one-man show to be performed at the Winthrop Barn September 29, according to Debbie Bair.
The one-man comedy, ‘Scrambled McManus’, by humor writer Patrick F. McManus and starring “his indentured actor, Tim Behrens” will benefit the Methow’s Junior Class Close Up Trip to Washington, according Bair. “Pat and Tim personally selected some of their favorite tales from the four complete McManus Comedies for inclusion in this story stew. Stories include…The Night the Bear Ate Goombaw; The Grasshopper Trap; the Camping Trip with 100-year old Ed; First Date (with Melba Peachbottom); the Mummy Story (or how I learned to love the dark) and just for this show, Our First Cannon!”
The Winthrop Barn doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30. Root beer floats and ‘adult concession’ will be available.
Tickets are being sold in Winthrop at Riverside Printing and Trails End Bookstore, in Twisp at Daily Business, and on line at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/266799 .
Adults are $20, individuals 12 and under pay $10.
