photoPam and Terry Hunt are part of the faculty for this year's Pipestone Summer Music Camp.

The fourth annual Pipestone Summer Music Camp will allow students from the Methow and surrounding region to continue their musical studies from Monday, July 30 to Friday, August 3 at the Methow Valley Community Center. The camp is divided into two sections:

  • String Orchestra 9:30am- 2pm. For children 8 or older who have played violin, viola or cello for at least one year and competently read music (in first position).
  • Chamber Music 12:15 - 5pm. For students who have played a minimum of three years and read music fluently. This portion is open to strings, winds, brass, piano and guitar.

The camp also includes music history and music theory components, and culminates with a public performance on Friday, August 3 at 4:00 pm in the Methow Valley Community Center gym.

Local faculty members include Pam and Terry Hunt, Tara Kaiyala Weaver, Molly Filer and Mike Harvey.  Tuition is $200 for a half day and $300 for a full day. Partial scholarships are available.
