Bite of the Methow another sellout

The Winthrop Kiwanis Club’s annual Bite of the Methow set another record Saturday night when more than $5,500 was pledged for the Fund-A-Dream project, which this year is to help develop a playfield adjacent to the airport in Twisp.

The total amount raised through the live and silent auctions was just over $34,000, according to club member Rick Lewis. He added that 376 tickets were sold, making the event a sell-out again this year.

The Bite is the club’s primary annual fundraiser and helps support a number of community projects. Eighteen food vendors participated. The $10 admission ticket was good for 10 tickets that could be used to buy a bite from any vendors.

"Winthrop Kiwanis is extremely appreciative for the kind and generous support of the Methow Valley community from Carlton to Mazama,’ Lewis said, adding that all those who participated “make this event an annual community success story."
