Contribute to the Christine Cherrington Memorial

Scholarship Fund

For many years, the Board of Cascadia has been able to fortify the Christine Cherrington Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund with matching grants from the State of Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board. With enough community support, we will be able to try for the “Priority 2” category that states:

“The state provides a $2000 matching grant to prior recipient organizations that raise at least $2000 in new money for scholarships, and the recipient organization deposits a minimum of $4000 into a new or existing irrevocable endowment fund.”

To be eligible for the grant, we must raise $2000 by the end of March 2006. Since it is awarded on a “first come, first served” basis, we need to raise this amount as soon as possible. Any gifts that were earmarked for the Cherrington Scholarship Fund and given since April 1, 2005 are included in this year’s total.

The Cherrington Fund is invested in mutual funds, and the overall increase in the investments over the years has been quite good. This year’s opportunity to add an additional $2000 to the money that contributors send in will continue to keep the fund healthy.

Would you please consider being a part of this effort with your financial gift? Every year, a Liberty Bell High School student is afforded the opportunity to pursue his or her dreams of a higher education in music-related fields because of the generosity of people like you. Send your check of any amount to Cascadia, PO Box 1013, Twisp, WA 98856 and designate it to the Cherrington Scholarship.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

The Cascadia Board of Directors and the Christine Cherrington Memorial Scholarship Committee.
